San Joaquin County Jail Facility Expansion Project
San Joaquin County
The San Joaquin County Jail Facility Expansion Project consists of the design and construction of 11 Housing Units to accommodate 1,280 pre-trial and sentenced inmates, a new Central Plant, Jail Visitor’s Center, Central Control Room, Secure Corridors to new housing units, and a new Administration and Staff Services Center. The $115 million project will add approximately 150,000 square feet to the existing San Joaquin County Jail and Sheriff’s Administration Center. The project will receive an $80 million AB 900 Grant from the State of California. KSN’s scope of work includes the preparation of civil improvement plans for grading, drainage, site circulation, parking, non-architectural concrete hardscape, and wet utilities. Construction of the Housing Units, Jail Visitor’s Center, Central Control Room, Secure Corridors to new housing units, Administration and Staff Services Center, and expansion of the Central Plant, will have to take place without interrupting operations at the jail, including parking and employee and visitor access. Construction is expected to begin in the Spring of 2013.
