Nearly 50 Years of Integrity, Stability and Growth

Steeped in tradition and a strong work ethic, Kjeldsen, Sinnock and Neudeck, Inc. continue in the footsteps of founder Darrhl I. Dentoni. Mr. Dentoni, a Stockton native and graduate of Stanford University School of Engineering, established a three-person civil engineering firm in 1956.

Mr. Dentoni believed the firm’s principals should take an active role and be accessible to all clients. That is still practiced today, and has resulted in early professional and business relationships remaining intact.

Our early focus was on surveying, designing public works facilities, and providing engineering designs for private and public sector clients. Our offices moved to a Quonset hut (1113 West Fremont Street) in 1964 and Kenneth L. Kjeldsen joined the firm. Several public agencies, cities and special districts in central California retained us as engineering consultants. These included the City of Escalon, the Groveland Community Services District and the Mariposa Public Utility District, as well as Tuolumne City, Woodbridge, San Andreas and Jamestown Sanitary Districts.

Mr. Dentoni and Mr. Kjeldsen formed D.I. Dentoni & Associates in 1972 . Stephen K. Sinnock joined the firm in 1975. By 1980, we had grown to ten employees and expanded our services. After state laws to ensure Delta levee safety were passed, we provided design and construction specifications for the levee systems of reclamation districts. Brack Tract in northern San Joaquin County was our first client.

Mr. Dentoni passed away in July 1981. The San Joaquin Engineers Joint Council posthumously named him “1982 Engineer of the Year” for his exemplary professional contributions.

Christopher H. Neudeck joined us in 1982, and we incorporated under the firm name of Kjeldsen-Sinnock & Associates, Inc.

Strong residential, commercial and industrial development in the Central Valley required public infrastructures to expand. It was a period of accelerated growth and significant additions were made to our staff and offices. Chris Neudeck became a principal in 1989 and in January 1995, the firm adopted its present name, Kjeldsen, Sinnock & Neudeck, Inc.
