Downtown Stockton Marina and Joan Darrah Promenade

The Downtown Stockton Marina And Joan Darrah Promenade Design-Build Project is the centerpiece of Stockton’s vision of turning the waterfront area into a destination for recreation, community events, and residential and commercial opportunities.  Kjeldsen, Sinnock & Neudeck, Inc., (KSN) teamed with Power Engineering Contractors Inc. to provide civil engineering, surveying, mapping and right of way engineering services for the Project.  KSN prepared detailed plans and specifications for the demolition, grading, concrete and paver hardscape, parking, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water quality pretreatment, domestic water, fire water and miscellaneous site appurtenances.  KSN also provided topographic and bathymetric surveys, right of way engineering, and construction staking for both landside and waterside improvements, including over water construction locations for the piles that now secure the docks.  The City’s goal to build the best possible waterfront project with services found in high end marinas was accomplished through a design-build contract with a design team that coordinated exceptionally well to bring this unique project to completion on schedule and within budget.
