2004 Jones Tract Levee Break

Kjeldsen, Sinnock & Neudeck, Inc. (KSN) was instrumental in the reclamation of over 12,000 acres of agricultural lands during the 2004 Jones Tract Levee Break.  Upon notification of the levee break along Middle River, KSN mobilized inspection staff to verify and monitor the event.  KSN provided experienced flood fight experts, including civil engineers, construction managers, construction inspectors, survey crews and support staff to assist the Reclamation Districts with expediting construction contracts to immediately begin repairs and pump out the flood waters.  KSN negotiated construction contracts on behalf of the Districts, and worked closely on a daily basis with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, The Department of Water Resources, CalTrans, San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services and the news media.  KSN provided around the clock inspections and support to both Reclamation Districts on Jones Tract and on numerous surrounding Reclamation Districts during the entire event.  KSN continues to work with all of the Reclamation Districts involved during the event, assisting each District with engineering services and seeking claims to assist each District with funding to improve levees and increase flood protection throughout the Delta.
