McHenry Avenue Corridor Improvements

The McHenry Avenue Project will widen McHenry Avenue to provide safety, operational, and capacity improvements to meet current and future traffic demands.  The improvements will provide for the construction of a two-way center left-turn lane, widened shoulders to accommodate bicycles and pedestrians (Class III facility), a new traffic signal at the McHenry Avenue/River Road intersection, and the replacement of the two bridges (Stanislaus River and SSJID) with structures wide enough for the ultimate five-lane facility.  Kjeldsen, Sinnock & Neudeck, Inc. (KSN) was retained by AECOM Transportation to provide surveying, mapping, and right of way engineering services for the 2-mile long improvement project.  KSN’s services included establishing a survey control network, design support ground surveys, bathymetric surveys, bridge surveys, utility research and mapping, and right of way mapping.  Right of way surveys included the preparation of a pre-construction record of survey to document the location of existing monuments and assisting the county with the preparation of descriptions for the acquisition of new right of way.
